October Month Algorithm Update

Google's latest improvements to its search spam detection systems are now live. The company didn't specify whether the update was focused on links, content, or other forms of spam, but said that it was a global change affecting all languages. The update should take about a week to fully roll out, so keep an eye on your website's traffic and ranking in Google Search during that time. If you see any sudden changes, it's likely due to this latest update.

We're always working to improve our automated systems that detect search spam, and when we make a significant improvement, we call it a spam update. We share details about these updates on our list of Google Search ranking updates. We periodically make improvements to that system to make it better at spotting spam and catching new types of spam. If your site sees a change after a spam update, review our spam policies to make sure you're in compliance with them. Sites that violate our policies may find that their ranking in results pages suffers, or they may not appear in results at all. If our systems determine over a period of months that a site is compliant with our spam policies, then the site may see an improvement in its ranking.

Although Google typically doesn't publicize the details of its spam updates, we know that the October 2022 update will take some time to roll out completely. This is due to the fact that it took Google 11 months to prepare for the launch of this update. Google wants to ensure the quality of its search engine results, and releasing spam updates is one way it does this. However, because these updates can often target specific types of spam, such as link spam, we may not always know the exact details of what's being changed. Google has a clear definition of what it considers to be spam, which includes tricking users into providing personal information or installing malware on their computers. Measure points we have to consider related to this update:

1. Link spam : 

Link spam occurs when out-of-context links are posted in user comments on websites, blogs, forums, guestbook, and other online forums. Link spam is sometimes referred to as blog spam, wiki spam, and comment spam. Link spammers typically don't include any useful remarks with their links.

Avoid these links spamming’s: 

i. Purchase links 

ii. Exchange links

iii. Automated links (created by tools.)

iv. Forum signature/profiles links.

v. Footers links

vi. Low quality directory submission/social bookmarking links.


2. Key words stuffing :

Keyword stuffing occurs when you use the same terms (or phrases) repeatedly on your website. Most of the time, it is obvious and will turn readers off. Keyword cramming can be accomplished in two ways:

(A) Visible

All your content contains unnecessary repetitions of words and phrases.

Using words or phrases that are irrelevant to the topic, product, or service.

In a single piece of content, use the same word repeatedly.

(B) Invisible

Using a white font on a white background to hide text. Users may not see this, but search engine crawlers will.

The alt text should not repeat words or phrases.

The code on your website should be hidden from repeated use of words.

In your Meta and comment tags, don't overuse any words or phrases.

If you have been involved in SEO and marketing work for a while, you probably remember a time when not only was keyword stuffing acceptable but it was also a common tactic. As with many things, time has moved on and there are several problems it can now cause. 


(1) User experience: By creating content stuffed with keywords, you are focusing more on rankings than on readers.

(2)Penalties: Keyword stuffing is now disliked by search engines. Therefore, if your site is found to be guilty of this, you may face penalties on relevant pages or even the entire site. Google may even decide to remove your site from SERPs (search engine results pages) entirely in some cases.

(3)Loss of users : Users will vote with their feet if they see content that is more focused on ranking than informing and engaging them (or in this case, a mouse click).

(4)Brand damage: You may damage your brand if you stuff your content with keywords. Your brand will lose trust and confidence if people begin to associate it with poor content stuffed with repetitive words and phrases.

A doorway page will alter a search engine's index by adding results for specific phrases while directing users to another page. Doorway pages employ some kind of masking to secretly reroute visitors. This usually falls under Black Hat SEO.

Solution: Use unique content for all Pages.

5. Hacked content:

9. Artificial content:

The main question is how to distinguish artificial content from natural. Let’s turn to the examples to make this issue clear. Artificial content is the content which is created by people. 11. Sneaky Redirects: 

What is a sneaky redirect? A sneaky redirect is a technique some people use to trick search engines into think they have a different website. When you try to search a word on Google, you’re going to see a page with results. The results page is also called the SERP, which means Search Engine Result Page. On the search results page, there’s a list of websites that are relevant to the word you searched. The search engine checks each website if it has the word you searched for. It checks the URL, the content, and in some cases the title tag and Meta description. All of these elements combined are called the site’s on-page SEO.

12. Lazy affiliate pages: 

Lazy Affiliate Pages is a common SEO problem that I have found on many websites. It is caused by people simply copying and pasting the affiliate link from one site to another. This is a very lazy approach to link building and can be damaging to your website.

Suggestions: Use your own content/images/Test Results or add value to the content you received from the manufactured.

13. User generated spam: 

User Generated Spam is the term used for when a website user makes a comment on a relevant post, article or web page which is of no use or doesn't provide any value to the conversation. This is not something you want on your blog or website as it will actually damage your search engine optimization, however there are a couple of ways we can get rid of this problem.

14. Misleading functionality: 

Misleading functionality is a practice that can be seen more and more often in SEO. A typical scenario is a website which does not provide the functionality which is promised to the user. In SEO, a website can be punished for misleading functionality.

15. Real spam: 

We know the way spam is defined. It is the process of using deceptive techniques to artificially inflate page ranks on search engine results. The spam techniques could be something like keyword stuffing or hidden text and links, and other unethical tactics. The good thing is that Google and other search engines have been trying to improve their algorithms so that these spams techniques and compensated links are penalized.
